Sarah + Kevin | Elopement

The forecast called for a storm. Not just any storm, but a BIG storm. At the exact time the ceremony was supposed to start. Anyone who knows me, knows I love a moody aesthetic over anything…so I was set. I packed my camera, rain gear, slipped my wellington boots on and headed out the door to Bee Well Blooms Flower Farm. I was going to photograph a very “2020” wedding. Quick, masked, socially distanced.

The owners of Bee Well Blooms, Sarah and Kevin decided last week to just go ahead and tie the knot after many years together. Neither wanted a big wedding, so the timing was perfect. Thankfully the timing was perfect for me as well. This was my dream elopement. A gloomy September day in Pennsylvania, when the humidity reminds you it’s definitely still summer, despite having pumpkin and autumn EVERYthing everywhere you look.

I said a quick prayer in my car when I got to the flower farm, asking Jesus to hold off on any treacherous weather until we were able to get photos and what can I say, He heard my prayer and blessed us with only a few sprinkles of rain.

Sarah wore a vintage linen dress from the 40’s and made her own bouquet from the flowers she and her now husband grew together on their farm. It was absolutely breathtaking.
